The trend toward more colorants that just the standard KCMY one creates the opportunity to enlarge the printer gamut and to produce more brilliant inkjet prints. With the introduction of additional colorants it is furthermore possible to reduce the well-known pixeling. We advice you on the correct colour combination to achieve an optimal and consistent result. The end-product requirements determine the type of dyestuff (reactive, pigment, acid, disperse), the dyestuff (fastness) and dyestuff combinations (metamerism). The choice of application (combination of dyestuffs, substrate and process) in part determines the fastness and print quality (brilliance, sharpness, smoothness, etc.) that one can obtain in the end. Stable dyestuff combinations are to be preferred, that are combinations that for different light sources (daylight, evening and artificial) lead to small deviations in appearance only (metamerism). An important criterion in the dyestuff selection is the fulfilment of eco standards, in particular with regards to labelling requirements. |
