Boxmeer (Netherlands), April 25th 2010 FESPA 2010 Munich, spotligth on autonomous in-line fixation SETeMa's news at FESPA 2010 in Munich (Stand 540 Hall B2) is the new developed I-Fix (in-line fixation) unit. The I-Fix is a complete autonomous heat fixation unit that can be coupled in-line to each digital printer without the need of a mechanical or electrical interface. Textile printing and heat fixation are automatically synchronised to a one step process. The I-Fix unit is developed for the fixation of disperse direct and disperse transfer/sublimation dyes. With the I-Fix, in-line fixation is now possible with every direct to cloth disperse printer. Existing printers without an in-line fixation can be upgraded with the I-Fix since it works completely independent from printer hard- and software. Advantages of the I-Fix are: - Maintaining the textile structure due to the pressure-free heat fixation. - The paper free workflow of the I-Fix saves on consumables costs. - An integrated exhaust removes hazardous solvents, which evaporate easily at high fixation temperatures from the ink, thereby keeping the working environment clean. - An optional parking shield that protects the cloth during a printer stop. - The winding system of the printer could be re-used if suitable. Alternatively the unit can be equipped with SETeMa's centre winder. - The I-Fix is a versatile concept for fixation of disperse dyes, but also suitable for universal drying applications. - Placed behind the printer, the I-Fix will not influence the printing process with heat generation and evaporated solvents. With temperatures between 50 and 220°C and dwell times from 10 seconds till several minutes the I-Fix is suitable for a wide range of drying and fixation applications. The electrical heated aluminium drum has an even temperature in the full width and guarantees a quick heat transfer to the textile. Cleaning is easy because the exhaust hood can be opened, allowing access to the rolls and heated drum. The I-Fix is delivered complete with its own embedded control-unit. As one of the first producers of finishing equipment for the digital market, SETeMa produces all of its products in 3 cloth widths: 1.85 m, 2.50 m and 3.40 m. Boxmeer (Netherlands), March 25th 2009 FESPA 2009 Amsterdam, accent on conserving resources Based in the Netherlands SETeMa B.V., which was founded in 2002, develops and manufactures machinery for the dyestuff fixation and for pre-coating/padding, washing, finishing and drying of textiles. SETeMa is focussing towards all textile finishing processes around the printing process with textile machinery based on the scientific knowledge of the underlying processes. From the start of the company it was clear that an initial low energy and water consumption has to be one of the highest priorities in the development of all SETeMa products. Steam and water recycling and the re-use of heat energy from the used steam, the waste water and the used air and a good isolation reduce the energy and heat loss. Thus recirculation and heat exchangers are always a standard part of its designs enabling users to get the lowest energy costs, water usage and waste water amounts in their class. This has led to a range of modular finishing equipment with the highest possible performance and a low energy and water consumption as typical features. The modularity of the equipment enables customers, also afterwards, to combine various configurations, to their production needs at that moment and what will fit in their budget. Shown at FESPA 2009 in Amsterdam (Stand M18) is the new developed Porta-Wash line for the washing-off of digital printed textile. In the Porta-Wash line the vacuum slit system pre-dries the fabric evenly to a wet-pickup as low as 30% relative to fabric-weight. This ensures a cost-effective drying without the need of a heavy and expensive squeezing roller system which can reach 60% wet-pickup (best case). When used in combination with the Portafix Universal steam-dryer, additionally up to 80% of the drying energy will be reused for pre-heating of the cold fresh water in the Porta-Wash. To obtain the highest energy efficiency each Porta-Wash module is additionally equipped with a counter-flow heat exchanger between the fresh water and hot waste water, air recirculation at the vacuum system and thermally isolated walls. Further as an important part of the washing process the newly developed vacuum system also removes polluted water from the cloth containing the excess of dyestuff and coatings. This largely prevents polluted water being dragged by the cloth into the next bath thus maintaining the required concentration differences between the cloth and the water in each bath. Due to the nature of the vacuum system the evenness over the width is excellent. The extracted water from the fabric is recycled to reduce the water and chemical consumption. The Porta-Wash line use recycled and a calculated fresh soft water amount with a minimum of only 2.5 l/min (at 2.5 m width), based on the (dye) pollution in the washer for an optimal washing result with a minimum of water usage. The Porta-Wash follows on a range of textile machinery which began with the introduction of the Portafix Universal, in 2003, a steam/air fixation unit with an integrated steam generator for the fixation of textile dyestuffs. Specially developed to offer the lowest energy consumption in its class without compromising the quality, the Portafix Universal uses, compared with other steamers only a tenth of the energy due to the huge forced steam circulation and the capability of regeneration during the circulation. Compared to alternative fixation units, the steamer needs no paper and has only 1.5 kWh of heat loss to the environment due to the isolated closed steam chamber. The build-in exhaust removes hazardous solvents, which evaporate easily at high fixation temperatures from the ink, thereby keeping the working environment clean. Boxmeer (Netherlands), October 15th 2008 Introduction of a complete new developed modular washing line SETeMa introduces its complete new Porta-Wash roll to roll washing line consisting of a series of 4 different washing modules. These modules can be combined to meet customer demands to wash various cloth- and fibre types. The new Porta-Wash line consists of a base module PW-B, a large module with twice the cloth contents PW-L, a large module with a separation wall PW-LD and a J-Box module PW-J with a maximum content of 40 meter. To achieve good water-, wash- and rub-fastnesses a minimum of unfixed dyestuff in the fibre is the main goal of the washing process. For these diffusion limited washing processes the time, temperature and concentration differences are essential factors rather than amount of fresh water and mechanical force. The requirements of the diffusion wash process are the basis for the Porta-Wash line combining a long dwell time with minimal water content, a minimum of fresh water usage and a moderate mechanical impact. In the Porta-Wash line the separate washing modules use recycled and fresh soft water. Spraying nozzles, which are pressurised by circulation pumps, supply the mechanical energy to increase the washing effect. The newly developed vacuum system in each module largely prevents polluted water being dragged by the cloth into the next bath. To further enhance the washing effect the cloth is sprayed with clean soft water prior to the vacuum slit. This maintains the for the washing process required concentration differences between the cloth and the water in each bath. The vacuum system is ideal for the removal of polluted water containing the excess of dyestuff and thickeners from the cloth. Due to the nature of the vacuum system the evenness over the width is excellent. The vacuum is adjustable to accommodate for different fabrics and can achieve rest moisture content as low as 30% for synthetics and 60% for natural fibres. To obtain a high energy efficiency each Porta-Wash module is equipped with a counter-flow heat exchanger for the cold incoming and hot outgoing water, an airflow circulation at the vacuum system and thermally isolated walls. Optional scroll rollers, tension control bars, two types of drying systems and several winding and unwinding systems can be combined to suit customer demands. The modularity of the system assures a high flexibility where customers can add modules afterwards. A PLC enables the control of the washing speed, water temperature and the vacuum per cloth type in each module. Each washing module can be equipped with a fully automatic dispensing system for the required chemicals. The Porta-Wash comes with an user friendly full-colour touch-screen interface. Boxmeer (Netherlands), 19 February 2008 New products at Fespa 2008 SETeMa B.V. introduces at FESPA 2008 in Geneva 1.-3. april (Stand M122) a high volume fixation unit, the E-STeaM ES-B36 with a content of 36 meters. The E-SteaM is suitable for fixation of disperse dyes on polyester and all other textile dyes. The compact unit is developed for the lowest energy consumption typically only 20-30% compared to commonly available units and it has one of the best price performance ratios in the market place. The E-STeaM will also be available with a content of 18 meters, the E-STeaM ES-B18, which is upgradable to a ES-B36 with 36 meters in the same machine configuration. Additionally the capacity of the ES-B36 fixation unit can be enlarged with modular extension units, the E-STeaM ES-U. The ES-U is a module that can be coupled to the ES-B, initially or at a later stage. This modularity enables flexible configuration, e.g. 2 units to create a content of 72 meters. The principle of the ES-B and ES-U is based on the successful Portafix Universal series, with similar characteristics as a built-in steam-boiler, forced steam circulation and regeneration of steam. Also introduced at Fespa is the Drum-Dryer which is designed specifically for the combination with the Porta-Clean and Porta-Pad. The Porta-Clean, for removing coatings and non-fixated dyestuffs in a high performance rinsing process, and the Porta-Pad, for application of pre-/after-treatment chemicals, can both be combined with the Drum Dryer for in-line washing-drying respectively coating-drying. It was already possible to combine the Porta-Clean and Porta-Pad with the Portafix Universal for fixation and drying. With the new option customers can choose to have a separate line for fixation and a separate coating-washing-drying combination or an integrated line for fixation, coating, washing and drying. In both combinations, a production capacity between 68 m/h and 135 m/h can be achieved. Together with the introduction of the E-STeaM series a new winding system for higher roll capacity will be available. This ascending batch winder comes with the possibility of an automatic transverse substrate correction with cloth-side detection for perfect straight rolls. The ascending batch winder is a modular system; it can be coupled initially or at a later stage to all of the SETeMa's products. Due to the modularity of the systems several possible configurations are combinable according to customer needs. All the systems meet customer requirements regarding a low cost price and a minimum of water and energy consumption. Boxmeer (Netherlands), 24 August 2007 Finishing equipement for everyone At ITMA Munich 2007, 13 to 20 September, the SETeMa products will been shown at the booth of Aleph (Hall A2, Booth 303/404), as both parties agreed upon the end of July. SETeMa's focus towards all textile finishing processes around printing applications, has lead to a broad range of finishing equipment. Modularity, highest possible performance and a low energy and water consumption are the key words in the product line formed by pre-coat, fixation, washing, finishing and drying systems. Products can, even afterwards, be combined in each requested configuration, giving each customer the most flexible solution with a minimal investment. The Porta-Pad coating unit, for a broad variety of textiles, comes with a vacuum slit system which allows a simple and reproducible way to apply coating and finishing chemicals. The Porta-Clean washing unit, developed for the flag and banner market, removes coatings and non-fixated dyestuffs with a minimal fresh water consumption of only 1.8-3.4 l/min dependent of the fabric width. The system is developed with a water recycling and counterflow heat exchanger to meet the requirements of minimum wastewater and energy consumption for a cost effective production. The Portafix Universal steam/air fixation unit is suitable for the fixation of all textile dyestuffs, with temperatures in the range 100 to 180°C and dwell times between 2 and 30 minutes. It is equipped with a build-in steam generator. A cunning technology guarantees a maximal colour yield with absolute consistency and reproducibility with a low fresh steam consumption. The fixation units can be delivered in 3, 6, 9 and 11 linear meters content and are afterwards upgradeable to 11 meters. All equipment comes with maintenance-free chains which drive all rolls, thus ensuring a stress-free fabric transport in all units. Boxmeer (Netherlands), 20 April 2007 SETeMa B.V. introduces at the FESPA 2007 in Berlin (booth no. J155 / hall 25) their new 3400 mm (133.9") wide fixation unit for the fixation of all textile dyes, the Portafix Universal 3400. The Portafix Universal 3400 is designed specifically for the wide format textile printing market and is suitable for all fabrics printed with water based dyes including nylon and polyester, the typically used materials for flag and banner printing. Temperatures in the range 100 - 180°C and dwell-times from 2 to 30 min can both be tuned for steam and hot air fixation. The Portafix Universal 3400 uses the proven technology of the earlier introduced 2500 and 1850 models but is designed from scratch with a modulair infeed and outfeed frame for more flexibility in cloth handling and a higher cloth contents for higher production speeds. The Autostart ensures production readiness on a pre-set time. The stand-by state can be used to keep the device, with minimum energy consumption, at the required production temperature. The new Autostop stops the unit automatically in a programmed manner after cloth-end detection, giving extra unattended fixation time outside working hours. The Portafix Universal is equipped with a build-in steam generator and has fixed connections for water supply, steam/air exhaust and condensate waste water. Huge forced Steam circulation and regeneration, combined with the PID controlled heating and cooling, guarantee that the selected temperature is achieved throughout the entire steam chamber with an accuracy of a few tenths of a degree, resulting in an all-over equal and reproducible colour in combination with a low fresh steam consumption. The maintenance-free chains drive all rolls, thus ensuring a stress-free fabric transport. With the introduction of the Portafix Universal 3400 the 1850 and 2500 series are also updated to the new design. All the fixation units are modular combinable with the successful Porta-Clean and Porta-Pad to form an in-line pre-coat, fixation, washing, finishing and drying line in each possible combination. This giving each customer the most flexible solution with a minimal investment. |
